Making the decision to pursue a new wealth manager can be difficult. You may already have a relationship with your current advisor and, even if you aren’t seeing the results you’d like from that relationship, making the transition to a new firm can be intimidating.

At Avidian Wealth Solutions, we have designed our process to make the get-to-know-you process easier. We follow a multi-step approach that ensures everyone is on the same page and that we are a good match for one another, followed by the presentation of a uniquely tailored plan designed to meet your financial goals and ambitions, with multiple conversations along the way.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of what you can expect when you request a meeting with us, step by step.

What should I prepare before talking to a financial advisor?

Before you meet with a financial advisor from Avidian Wealth Solutions, it’s important to have some basic information on hand. We recommend gathering and having available as much of the following as possible. Doing so will help make the discussion more productive for all involved parties.

  • Your most recent tax returns
  • Investment and bank account statements
  • Insurance policies
  • Will and estate planning documents
  • Debts (including mortgages, student loan debt, credit card debt, etc.)

This helps us get an accurate picture of your financial situation so we can develop a plan tailored to your needs. You can bring us these documents organized in a binder or stuffed in a brown paper sack, it doesn’t matter. As long as the information is there, we can do the rest.

You may also want to come with a list of questions for us. The most common questions we get include:

  • Is my 401(k) invested properly?
  • Am I saving enough money?
  • Am I spending enough?
  • I’m dealing with my parent’s estate. Can you help me?
  • What are your fees?

What to expect when you agree to a conversation with Avidian

1. Identify the objectives of your financial plan

We want to build a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with you. That’s why we take the time to fully understand your needs.

During our first conversation, we will discuss your financial goals and the time-frame within which you would like to achieve them. We will also learn more about your current lifestyle and the lifestyle you wish to maintain after retirement, so that we can make recommendations to fit your desired outcome.

Some questions we may ask during our initial conversation include:

  • What’s most important for us to talk about?
  • Do you have any experience with a financial advisor or planner?
  • If yes, what is it that they did for you?
  • Do you know how much you can confidently spend?

Together, we will also take time to analyze your existing assets to pinpoint problems, gaps, and opportunities.

2. Recommend strategies based on your objectives

Once we have identified your goals and analyzed your current financial landscape, we leverage our multidisciplinary team of financial professionals to create customized, sustainable solutions based on your unique needs.

Whether you’re a business owner looking to formalize your succession plan and transition into retirement, a high-net-worth individual with a variety of assets in need of diversification and protection, or a newly married couple looking to think through the financial implications of blending two incomes, our team will present you with our recommendations for the safest and most effective plan options, tailor-made to you.

3. Implement your plan

After comparing your different plan options with how they align to your other goals and objectives, we come up with a plan of action. From here, we will coordinate with your existing attorneys, advisors, and accountants to enact our agreed upon strategies and move your assets accordingly.

4. Regular check-ins and reviews

At Avidian, we take a long-term approach to wealth management, opting for proactive solutions rather than reactive ones. Although you will be able to reach your advisor whenever you need them, they will take initiative to touch base with you throughout the year to make sure that your plan still aligns with your objectives. This allows us to provide you with comprehensive and ongoing financial planning that accounts for any changes in the economy or your personal life.

The result? A financial plan you can feel comfortable and confident in.
